Over this summer and in collaboration with the US Human Rights Network and HRE2020, HRE USA has been partaking in a consultation as part of the so-called Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United States. In the UPR the human rights records of all UN member states are reviewed. The United States are scheduled for review in 2015 and HRE USA will be reporting and making recommendations regarding human rights education.
This is an unique opportunity to provide feedback on the implementation of human rights education in the United States.
HREA is a founding member of both Human Rights Educators USA (HRE USA) and HRE 2020: Global Coalition for Human Rights Education.
