On Thursday, 12 June 2014, HREA will host a roundtable discussion on “The Role of National Human Rights Institutions in Advancing Human Rights Education.” This event is free and open to the public.
This event will bring together experts from a range of sectors including representatives of national human rights institutions (NHRIs), civil society, academia, and inter-governmental organisations to present their understanding and experiences related to the role and mandate that NHRIs have to promote human rights education. Some speakers and participants will join the meeting in person from HREA offices in Cambridge, MA, USA and others will join via web conferencing. The panel discussion will contribute to HREA’s research on NHRIs and human rights education which will be published in the Research in Human Rights Education Paper Series later this year.
