[hr-education] Training on Understanding Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (Geneva, 19-23 November 2012)

Dear Friends,

With this message, we wish to let you know that a training on Understanding Economic, Social and Cultural Rights will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from 19-23 November 2012.

The training is organized by Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (www.geneva-academy.ch). The Academy is an educational institution based in Geneva which focuses on research and advanced trainings on international human rights and humanitarian law.

We now invite applications from advocacy/human rights/legal officers, members of the judiciary, journalists, public officials and diplomats, project managers, and researchers working in human rights organisations, domestic institutions, or in UN agencies and other international organizations.

The rights to food, water and sanitation, health, education or housing will be addressed in-depth. The organizers will also arrange sessions on the mechanisms to protect and promote these rights at domestic, regional and international level. There will be a focus on litigation and building advocacy policies integrating mechanisms developed in the realm of the United Nations system for human rights protection.
