[women-rights] CEDAW 30th Session: Concluding Comments & General Recommendation

We are pleased to provide you herewith the nineteenth distribution of
treaty body recommendations through the listserve administered by the
Treaty Body Recommendations Unit of the Office of the High Commissioner for
Human Rights.   This is the first time that we are distributing the
Concluding Comments of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination
against Women (CEDAW), in cooperation with the United Nations Division for
the Advancement of Women, and we look forward to providing you future
Concluding Comments of the Committee. If you have any specific questions on
the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against
Women or the Committee, kindly consult the following webpage:

We attach, for your information, the Concluding Comments adopted by the
Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women at its
thirtieth session held from 12 to 30 January 2004 in New York, in respect
of reports submitted by eight States parties. The Concluding Comments are
provided in advance unedited version and in the language of adoption.  The
final versions, in all six official languages of the United Nations, will
be posted in due course on the relevant webpage of the Division for the
Advancement of Women (www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/cedaw).
Under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination
against Women, the Committee adopted Concluding  Comments in respect of the
following 8 States parties:

Further attached is the revised global Reporting Schedule setting out the
tentative consideration of State reports by treaty and session in 2004 and
2005. The schedule, correct as of 6 February 2004, is subject to change
without notice.
