Dear colleagues,

I am Irene R. Chia, Media, Information and Communications Programme
Associate of Isis International-Manila. Isis International-Manila is a
feminist NGO dedicated to women's information and communication needs. We
document ideas and visions, create channels to communicate, collect and
move information, and network and build links. We focus on those advancing
women's rights, leadership and empowerment in Asia and the Pacific.

Isis publishes Women in Action, a magazine that comes out three times a
year covers a broad range of issues affecting women globally, but focusing
on the particular needs and concerns of women in the Global South, and
forwarding a progressive perspective tempered by the experiences of the
third world women's movements. I am also the issue coordinator of Women in
Action. For more information about us, you may visit http://www.isismanila.org.

The No. 3 issue for 2003 of Women in Action will carry the theme "Women in
Prisons." We are looking for writers to contribute in this issue of our
magazine. We would like to ask you if you would be able to circulate this
in your mailing list or if you would be able to recommend possible writers
for our magazine. Below is our Call for Articles announcement. If you have
something that you have already written which you think would cover the
topics that we are interested in and that's current, we also welcome it.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
