Hello, colleagues. I'm looking for leads on organizations, materials and/or workshop modules that address sexual assault as a human rights issue. Specifically, I'm interested in how practitioners internationally and in the U.S. have used the human rights framework to address situations such as: - sexual assault as torture - rape in custody - sexual violence within the community and/or family - rape as a socio/medical issue for immigrants and refugees - public health as a human right - violence prevention projects with a focus on sexual assault - on-campus human rights responses to sexual assault I'm working with a group to develop a workshop for sexual assault advocates, helping them to connect their work to the global human rights movement. Especially helpful will be examples and/or concrete tools for how practitioners and survivors use the human rights framework to aid their work with other victims and survivors. Please send ideas, contacts and references to: Elizabeth Jennings, liz@idealist.org. Many thanks! EJ
