26 October-1 November 2003, Queen's University Belfast, UK.
http://www2.britishcouncil.org/seminars-governance-0354.htm

This international British Council seminar will be directed by Professor
Stephen Livingstone of the Human Rights Centre, Queen's University
Belfast. It will seek to draw on a range of international experience,
including a recent research study, to explore the question of how we can
best ensure that national human rights institutions play an effective role
in the promotion and protection of human rights. Participants will
consider a range of approaches through presentations, workshops and
discussion groups. The aim of the seminar will be to give participants
good scope for interaction.

The seminar will be of particular interest to members and staff of
national human rights institutions, human rights activists, government
officials, lawyers, judges and academics working in the human rights
field. Participants are encouraged to bring practical examples of any
relevant aspects of their own work.

Fully residential fee: GBP950
Maximum 30 participant places available.
