Launch of UN study on disarmament and non-proliferation education

For two years an expert group established by the United Nations General 
Assembly investigated the state of disarmament and non-proliferation 
education globally, meeting with educators, representatives of civil 
society, UN agencies and interested organizations to develop ideas and 
strategies for its improvement.  The Study will be presented to the General 
Assembly at its 57th session on this date with a call on governments, NGOs, 
the United Nations, and other international organizations to implement its 
recommendations.

Educators, students, representatives of NGOs and UN officials from around 
the world will discuss the recommendations of the Study and strategies for 
their implementation.
