Greetings Peace Educators, Please plan to attend the following exciting event: LAUNCH of the UN STUDY ON DISARMAMENT AND NON-PROLIFERATION EDUCATION Sponsored by the UN Department for Disarmament Affairs, the Government of Mexico, and the Hague Appeal for Peace Global Campaign for Peace Education. Wednesday, 9 October 2002 United Nations New York For two years an expert group established by the United Nations General Assembly investigated the state of disarmament and non-proliferation education globally, meeting with educators, representatives of civil society, UN agencies and interested organizations to develop ideas and strategies for its improvement. The Study will be presented to the General Assembly at its 57th session on this date with a call on governments, NGOs, the United Nations, and other international organizations to implement its recommendations.
