On-line PsySR survey on psychosocial humanitarian assistance

http://www.collabitat.com/psysr/survey/

Psychologists for Social Responsibility (www.psysr.org) is conducting an
on-line survey for directors and field workers with experience in mental
health and psychosocial programs in areas of ethno-political conflict.
This is part of a project developed by the PsySR Action Committee on
Trauma, Resilience, and Social Reintegration. This survey is supported in
part by a grant from the United States Institute of Peace and a gift to
PsySR in the memory of founding member Clara Rabinowitz.

The purpose of this survey is to gather information on the current state
of humanitarian assistance programs related to mental health and
psychosocial well-being. The survey is intended for professionals who have
worked or are currently working in areas affected by ethnopolitical
conflict.

The findings of this survey will be used to inform those who design,
implement, monitor, and evaluate psychosocial assistance programs. In
particular, a summary of the survey responses will be utilized at an
invitation-only conference sponsored by Psychologists for Social
Responsibility (PsySR) during July 2002 on integrating approaches to
psychosocial humanitarian assistance and developing best practices.

Later in 2002, a book-length report on the results of the conference with
responses from leading researchers, planners, and practitioners will be
published. In appreciation for help with this survey, survey respondents
will receive a copy of the report and a summary of the survey results.

To receive these items, please respond to the survey and also send your
mailing address in a separate e-mail message to <psysr2@aol.com>.

The survey can be filled out anonymously at:
http://www.collabitat.com/psysr/survey/

Persons preferring to be interviewed by phone, in Spanish, French or
English, should contact Tod Sloan at <psysr2@aol.com> to arrange a time.
Any questions about the survey should also be directed to this address.

Please inform colleagues and other networks about the opportunity to
participate in this survey and to receive these materials by forwarding
this message to them.

Thank you in advance for your help with this important project.
