related to the field of human rights.  These include the Patrick Stewart
Human Rights Scholarship and the American University/Amnesty International

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR STUDENT ACTIVISTS

The Patrick Stewart Human Rights Scholarship offers a unique opportunity
for students to gain practical experience in the field of human rights.
Amnesty International USA awards these scholarships to student activists
for summer internships or other short-term human rights projects.  Ranging
from $300 to $1,800, scholarships can be used for travel, materials, and
other expenses.  Applications are available in January and due March 15th.

AMERICAN UNIVERSITY/AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL SUMMER INSTITUTE: Human Rights in 
the 21st Century

The summer institute is open to college juniors and seniors, graduate
students, teachers and individuals involved in human rights work.  Earn
college credit and spend your summer learning about human rights at
