Dear Members, We have received the following announcement on the Annual DTP Program from Lawyers for Human Rights and Development (LHRD) for circulation among the members: "As informed before the Program is a 3-week training international human rights program scheduled to be held in Colombo in February/March 2002. The Program will be conducted by the Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) of the University of NSW, Australia. In view of concerns, expressed by participants regarding safety of air travel (particularly over a log distance) and the safety of Sri Lanka as the venue, many have been unable to apply before the deadline. To ensure that the most suitable candidates receive an opportunity for applying, the deadline for applications have been extended to 30th October 2001. A number of possible applicants from Sri Lanka also inquired about deductions and sponsorship of course fees. I am instructed by DTP to inform possible applicants that they will be assisted in applying to funding bodies and/or their sponsoring organisation for financial assistance. Applications for the program can be downloaded from www.law.unsw.edu/centres/dtp or email for an application form from dtp@unsw.edu.au. If you need further information you can contact us at LHRD on 810587 or lhrd@dynaweb.lk. The program can accommodate a maximum of 30 participants. However, as the host country the program would be able to accommodate more from Sri Lanka than is otherwise possible." Please contact Ms. Lakmali Cabral of LHRD for any further information. Thank you. Sincerely, Hyacinth Razack ========== Psychology and Human Rights listserv ========== Send mail intended for the list to <psychology-humanrights-l@hrea.org>.
