Dear friends at the International Peace Practitioners Network Internet Discussion Group on Psychology and Human Rights, I've got the pleasure of inviting your affiliates to participate on this project, an International Initiative who has the support of the UNESCO and the UNICEF among many others. Project title: Children's Art: A Platform for Peace. Children's Expression as a tool for the prevention, diagnose and treatment of violence against children. Abstract: The aim of the project is to build a network able to create and validate a Universal Methodology based on art-expression for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of violence against children. We understand violence in it's broader meaning: physical, psychological, structural, social, institutional and sexual among others. This methodology will be implemented and tested over high-risk collectives around the world. The Network created and the documents compiled will be the seed of the International Observatory on Children Expression whose purpose is to conserve and study these material, and assume the responsibility of getting the Children's message to the Civil Society. This project finances all the material the educators and children will use, the training of trainers and the co-ordination and mobility of the partners. Target: Children aged 3 to 10 years old. Members of collectives on risk of being exposed to violence. What could be your contribution? We are currently developing a Network of Expert Institutions all over the world who will be the responsible of building a common Methodology for the Activities (the ART KIT), to train trainers and to supervise the implementation of Activities. A wide range of participants will ensure that our project is really Universal and transferable, which is one of the main goals of the project. This Methodology will be an useful tool for organisations and professionals responsible of children attention and will benefit many children. The universities and experts have the duty of interacting with society on the building of solutions. This is both a research project and a real social intervention. Feel free to extend the collaboration!: We're creating a Network, this means that anyone able to do a contribution to our task will be welcomed. Hoping you will join this initiative. Please answer us as soon as possible. Receive a sincere salutation from Spain, Joan Roca Avila Project Co-ordinator Polytechnics University of Valencia. Spain +34 (9)6 393 22 09
