OSCE handbook focuses on conditions for successful work in prisons in Yugoslavia

BELGRADE, 25 June 2002 ­ The presentation of the OSCE handbook titled
"Prison practice under international standards ­ Handbook on basic
conditions for successful work in prisons", together with the translation
of a United Nations (UN) Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
publication, titled "Human rights and Prisons ­ A Manual on Human Rights
Training for Prison Officials" will be held in Belgrade on Wednesday, 26 June.

The realisation of both projects was financed by the Royal Netherlands
Embassy in Belgrade.

During the presentation for the media, the Head of the OSCE Mission to the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Ambassador Stefano Sannino will be holding
a speech, as well as the Assistant Republic Justice Minister, Mr. Dragan
Vulic, and the Head of the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human
Rights, Mr. Richard Towel.

Media representatives are invited to the presentation at 12:00 in the OSCE
Mission in Belgrade, Bulevar Mira 26. Both publications will be distributed
to journalists at the press conference.
