Strasbourg, 01.08.2006 -- An international conference in Bregenz, Austria is to bring together worldwide experts on electronic voting to look at how a Council of Europe recommendation is being applied, and to debate the future of this new voting method (Castle Hofen, 2 to 4 August). The conference, jointly organised by the Competence Center E-Voting, an Austrian NGO, the Council of Europe and the European Science Foundation, will focus on issues such as implementation, security and election observations, whilst reviewing the social, political, legal and democratic impact of electronic voting systems.
