HURIDOCS welcomes its new Training Officer

HURIDOCS would like to welcome Daniel D'Esposito, who has just joined the
HURIDOCS Secretariat in Versoix, Switzerland as Training Officer.

Daniel has experience in documenting human rights violations through his
ten years experience in the ICRC: first in the field (Iraq, Israel and
Palestine, Bosnia) and then in Geneva. He mainly did protection work:
visiting prisons to improve treatment and living conditions of detainees,
monitoring the situation of civilians during armed conflict to ensure
respect for international humanitarian law, and setting up systems to
trace persons who went missing during the conflict. Before joining
HURIDOCS, he was charge of ICRC's protection training unit at its Geneva
headquarters.

His work at HURIDOCS will involve mainly identifying training needs and
establishing training programmes, organising and conducting training
events and follow-up support, developing training modules and materials,
and coordinating with partner institutions with regard to training
activities.

Daniel is presently going through (and enjoying) an intensive induction
period so as to be up and running as soon as possible. However he already
welcomes any suggestions, ideas or advice with regards to training or
training opportunities that you may want so share - please email him at
info@huridocs.org.
