Dear friends,

I have the pleasure to invite you to attend at an important event that
will be held in the framework of WSIS regional civil society activities,
organized by the Iranian Civil Society Organizations Resource Center with
the participation of the civil society organizations from the Middle East,
West and Central Asia, in Iran at Kish Island from 26-28 August 2003.

Due to the fact that the Iranian Civil Society Organizations Resource
Center is working as the Civil Society Focal Point for Middle East, West
and Central Asia during the PrepCom II of the World Summit for the
Information Society (WSIS), such a forum is organized to inform all civil
society stockholders on the process and outcomes of previous conferences,
to harmonize and collect all views and concerns of these stockholders
regarding the plan of action and draft declaration of the WSIS, and to
evaluate and review the ICT status of the region and to prepare a civil
society regional action plan and a declaration on WSIS objectives and ICT
in the region.

Working Groups of the Forum will discuss different issues of the
Information Society such as gender issues, youth and employment within an
information society, copyright issues, sustainable development, access to
information, security and development, cultural diversity, human rights
and communications rights, certain other ICT issues.

Hereby, all ICT activists, scholars, NGOs and Media in the region (Middle
