Casa Alianza testimonial re: online volunteering

In Latin America, an estimated 40 million children live or work in the
streets, where violence, hunger, and neglect are part of their day-to-day
lives. For the past 20 years, Casa Alianza, a part of New York-based
Covenant House, has been providing at-risk children in Guatemala, Costa
Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, and Mexico with vital services to get them off the
streets and into stable care. Bruce Harris, Executive Director of Casa
Alianza, attributes, in part, the international growth and awareness of the
organization to the expertise of volunteers recruited through the NetAid
Online Volunteering Service (http://www.netaid.org/ov). "Without OV, we
would not have been able to have our web site in so many different
languages," says Mr. Harris. "Working with skilled 'electronic' volunteers
has allowed us to get more people worldwide involved in helping to stop the
killing of children in Central America."
