CPSR Board Elections 2003 During the spring of 2003, Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility (CPSR) will hold elections to fill seven vacancies on its Board of Directors. These will all be for three-year terms. The change in the CPSR bylaws, approved by the membership in the June, 2000 ballot, abolished the position of Regional Director. All Directors are elected to "at large" positions. The Board will select the corporate officers from amongst its membership. Note, the President and Chair positions are involved this year. All positions take effect on July 1, 2003, although new Board members are invited to the scheduled June Board Meeting. Any member of CPSR in good standing (by March 7th, 2003 ) may submit a statement of candidacy for the consideration of the Board Development Committee. If the nomination is approved, the statement from the candidate will be printed for the postal election materials and put on CPSR's website. The statement should consist of two parts, in English: 1. a description of the candidate's background and qualifications, including relevant educational and employment history, past work with CPSR, and any other relevant experience, and 2. a brief policy statement outlining the candidate's perspective on the CPSR program and the issues facing the organization. The combined length of these sections must not exceed 500 words. In addition, candidates may submit a longer statement, to be made available on CPSR's web site, or may provide a link to their own web page.
