WENT2002 INTERNSHIP INITIATIVE (Please circulate. Thank you.) Since 1999, the Asia and Pacific Women's Electronic Network Training Workshop (WENT) has trained close to 100 women from 18 countries in developing and managing web-based information services and databases, and in using online communication tools to advance their social and advocacy work. This year, WENT is reaching out to women who want to be trained to develop and run information and communication technology (ICT) trainings for other women and their organisations. WENT is accepting applications from women who would like to join the WENT Training Team as Interns. OVERVIEW The WENT Internship Initiative aims to (1) enable women to learn how to organise and run ICT trainings; (2) increase capacity of women to conduct national or local ICT training workshops through hands-on exposure in running the regional training workshop; and (3) promote networking among women ICT trainers in the region. All WENT Interns are expected to assist the WENT Training Team in implementing the regional workshop and in exploring possible locally-situated or nationally-based ICT trainings for women and their organizations. The WENT Internship Initiative is a hands-on training of trainers that will run in conjunction with WENT2002. All WENT Interns will be learning by running sessions and practical exercises, providing tutorials, and assisting participants in WENT2002. The WENT Interns will also participate in the onsite preparation and in post-training evaluation.
