[huridocs-tech] Cybercentre at Council of Europe's Youth Centre

The Netherlands provides the Council of Europe's Youth Centre in Strasbourg
with a new cyber centre

Strasbourg, 12.04.2002 - The Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to
the Council of Europe, Johannes Landmann, and the Council's Secretary
General Walter Schwimmer, will inaugurate the Dutch Cyber Centre of the
European Youth Centre, Strasbourg (1) on Monday 15 April at 5.30 pm.  This
was made possible by a voluntary contribution of 7,000 euros from the Youth
Policy Department of the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.

The Cyber Centre will enable youth participants in seminars and training
courses, organised by the European Youth Centre, to use up-to-date advanced
information technologies within the framework of their non-formal education.

The European Youth Centre celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The
work of the youth sector of the Council of Europe allows some 10,500 young
Europeans to come together every year, to develop their training in a
variety of fields such as human rights, intercultural dialogue, conflict
prevention and resolution, racism and intolerance.

Strasbourg : Les Pays-Bas équipent le Centre de la Jeunesse du Conseil de
l'Europe d'un Cybercentre

Strasbourg, 12.04.2002 - Le Cybercentre néerlandais du Centre européen de la
Jeunesse sera inauguré le lundi 15 avril à 17h30 à Strasbourg (1) par le
Représentant permanent des Pays-Bas auprès du Conseil de l'Europe, Johannes
Landmann, et le Secrétaire Général du Conseil de l'Europe, Walter Schwimmer.
Cette structure a vu le jour grâce à une contribution de 70.000 Euros, faite
par le département " politique de la jeunesse " du Ministère néerlandais de
la Santé, de la Sécurité sociale et du Sport.

Ce Cybercentre offrira aux jeunes participants des séminaires et des
sessions de formations organisés par le Centre européen de la jeunesse, la
possibilité d'utiliser les outils les plus récents en matière de nouvelles
technologies de l'information, dans le cadre de leur éducation non-formelle.

Le Centre européen de la Jeunesse célèbre cette année son 30ème
anniversaire. Chaque année, l'activité du secteur jeunesse du Conseil de
l'Europe permet à quelque 10.500 jeunes européens de développer leur
formation dans de nombreux domaines tels que les droits de l'homme, le
dialogue interculturel, la prévention et la résolution des conflits ainsi
que le racisme et l'intolérance.
