Subject: NetAid Campaign "Global Schoolhouse"

Dear Friends,

Please find enclosed a message from the UNV NetAid Team.

Team IYV
---------------------------------------------------

United Nations Volunteers has partnered with NetAid (www.netaid.org/OV)
since early last year to promote online volunteering opportunities in
support of developing countries. Online volunteers provide support in a
variety of areas: web design, research, translations, graphic design,
database design, writing articles, designing newsletters, providing online
mentoring or instruction, working with students or community members to
create an online project... the list is endless. The NetAid web site offers
details on the variety of ways that online volunteers can help an NGO in a
developing country.

NetAid has an upcoming initiative, the "Global Schoolhouse," which will
focus on access to education for children in the developing world. By the
end of September, UNV and NetAid would like to build up a large inventory of
online volunteering development projects that either relate to children's
education, or that are in support of organizations that are focused on
children's education in the developing world. We are particularly interested
in programs relating to girls' education.

We ask that you please let NGOs you are working with know about this
upcoming campaign and to encourage them to post online volunteering
opportunities on NetAid.

If you have questions or comments, please write the UNV NetAid team at:
netaid@unv.org

Thank you
