World leaders have failed the world's poor by not cancelling Third World
debt by the end of the millennium as called for by the Jubilee 2000
worldwide movement.

In response OneWorld has launched DebtChannel.org <www.DebtChannel.org>, the
global portal on international debt, in partnership with over 70 leading aid
agencies, human rights and campaign groups worldwide. For the first time,
all the websites of organisations calling for debt cancellation across the
world are being networked online by OneWorld. Now we have one place in
cyberspace to 'net the debt'.

Go to www.DebtChannel.org now for:
- all the latest news on debt and the campaign
- actions you can take to help Drop the Debt
- online discussions, events and networking
- a web directory of direct links to organisations working on debt
- the internet's largest collection of documents on international debt
- the world's first dedicated search facility on debt issues

"The launch of DebtChannel.org is a reflection of the growing worldwide
support for the struggle against debt slavery. Thanks to the networks and
web pages opened up by DebtChannel.org you too can become empowered to
challenge international financial systems - and help build a better world."
Ann Pettifor, Jubilee 2000 Co-founder and Director

Debt is undermining basic human rights and the ability of communities and
countries to determine their own sustainable development.
"DebtChannel.org is about the urgent need for change. The internet can help
bring together global civil society to ensure that debt does not bring more
human suffering and poverty," says Joe Chilaizya, DebtChannel.org editor.
"We invite everyone with access to the web to join us online in the fight to
Drop the Debt."

DebtChannel.org is edited in Zambia - one of the countries with a
devastating debt burden.
