All the best, Mylene Soto Resource Centre & Information Programme Staff ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------- For Hiring in January 2001 Isis International-Manila, an international women's information and communication service organisation based in Manila, Philippines, is in search of a Research and Advocacy Programme Manager to join its dynamic and motivated team. She will be responsible for taking the lead in developing research projects in support of Isis' advocacy areas, and doing an environmental scan of the changing political, economic and social trends in the Asia Pacific region and globally. She also takes the lead in developing networks around issues and concerns where Isis is engaged in such as racism, women and communication, food security, Beijing Platform for Action. She moderates several electronic mailing lists around Isis' advocacy areas. She represents Isis in regional and international conferences organised by NGO and international government bodies. Qualifications - strong feminist perspective - involvement in the women's movement nationally and/or regionally, internationally, for at least 3 years - experience in managing research and/or advocacy programmes for at least 3 years - ability to manage staff and lead the programme in all core activities - excellent networking, electronic communication and writing skills - high degree of proficiency in written and spoken English - ability to work in a fast paced and diverse environment - Master of Arts degree in Women's Studies / International Studies / Political Science or related courses or equivalent experience - willing to relocate in the Philippines for at least 2 years - valid passport Salary Range - US$ 615 to 790 per month depending on experience Special Benefits for Expatriates For expatriates relocating to the Philippines, there will be a modest relocation package and benefits offered which include the following: - a monthly housing allowance of US$ 270 a lump sum subsidy of US$500 for furnishings - an annual home leave, including roundtrip airfare - subsidy for additional freight cost in moving in and moving out Closing Date of Application: 20 November 2000 Those who have submitted their application earlier need not apply.
