INTERNET'S VIET NAM INPUT, OUTPUT MUST COMPLY WITH LOCAL LAW, STRESSES
                                SPOKESPERSON

Ha Noi, Jan. 20 (VNA) -- All information details aired
into or from Viet Nam through the Internet must comply
with Article 10 of the Press Law and Article 22 of the
Publication Law as set by the Government's temporary
decision on management and establishment of the
Website network in Viet Nam, has stressed a
      spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry.

Phan Thuy Thanh, answering a relevant question at a
press briefing in Ha Noi on Jan. 20, said under these
legal documents, any piece of information aimed at
sabotaging the Vietnamese Government as well as the
national unity, and causing harm to the national
security, national defence, economy or foreign
relations are banned in Viet Nam. Also forbidden are
those that may evoke offences, encourage any ideas,
cultural activities or lifestyle running counter to
the local fine traditions or customs. Fabrications
that may damage reputations of an organization or a
citizen are also considered illegal, the spokeswoman
      stressed.--VNA
