HAPPY BIRTHDAY, INTERNET:

Thirty years ago, on Sept. 2, 1969, UCLA graduate students
linked some computers to share information in an act that
many now call the birth of the Internet. Among the students
were Vinton Cerf and Jonathan Postel, both of whom later
created fundamental elements of today's Internet. "We
didn't think of this as a key event in any historical
sense," one of the pioneers recalled. "We didn't even have
 a camera."
