Marking up Information for International Development Second Meeting of the IDML Initiative Maastricht, Netherlands, 10-11 June 1999 The meeting will explore opportunities that XML and related technologies offer for improved information exchange in the international development community. It is organised by Oneworld Europe and Wageningen URL on behalf of ECDPM and in co-operation with Bellanet. This is the second meeting of the IDML Initiative (see < http://www.bellanet.org/xml >). The first was hosted by Bellanet and IDRC in Ottawa, Canada, in January of this year. The Maastricht meeting is being held in the context of a OneWorld Internetworking and Expo conference entitled, "The Information Society and International Cooperation." Organisations and networks such as EADI/ELAND, IBISCUS, EIARD, OneWorld, and Shared will be invited to give presentations how they are managing information, and to share their visions of how XML may affect their information exchange and distribution systems. Bellanet will report on the progress of the IDML Initiative.
