Dear friends, Greeting and Happy New Year! Hoping this new year brings you a lot of happiness and prosperous! I am writing to you today to follow up my previous email asking about your recommendation for person to attend the Master training on mainstreaming child participation. I attach the previous e-mail below this e-mail too. The training objectives are: a.. Sharing of the child participation research findings to members of CWA Child Participation Task Force members in a Sub-regional meeting in April 2005. b.. A pool of resource persons trained in delivering context/organization specific (based on research findings) training on mainstreaming child participation in each of the countries that research has been conducted This kind of training was recommended by CWA partner in child participation workshop in May 2004. Currently, our donor had confirmed to fund this kind of activity. The training will be held in Bangkok for participants in Southeast Asia on April 4 - 9, 2005. It would be great if you can recommend us names that you think have capacity to be trainers in your country as they will oblige to conduct the same TOT in the country and in-house training in your organization as well. I am preparing the form now, once it is ready I will circulate it to you. May I have your suggestion by, at the latest, 11 January 2005? Looking forward to hear back from you about names. Thanking you for the anticipation. In solidarity, Ms. Yuyun Wahyuningrum Program Coordinator for Southeast Asia Child Workers in Asia Network The Secretariat 120/16 Soi Sukhumvit 23 Sukhumvit Road, Klongtoey Nua Wattana Bangkok 10110 THAILAND southeastasia@cwa.tnet.co.th ============================================== Dear all, Greeting from CWA secretariat!, Drawing from the one of the program objectives for 2003-2006 to institutionalized child participation as well as reflecting from Child Participation workshop recommendations last May 2004, as a network we are mandated to institutionalise child participation as well as to build capacity of network members. As part of this mandate, currently we are documenting experiences in child participation among member organisations in 9 countries. Many of your organisations are part of this documentation. Given that, network members have asked for organisation-specific, tailor made training programmes on child participationat the mainstreaming workshop. I am writing with respect to the proposed capacity building programme on child participation for CWA network members. Now we are trying to develop a concept note (attached) and its logical framework matrix for how these training program can be organized. Very briefly, the concept talks about: a) identifying training needs of member organisations b) planning Training of Master Trainers Programmes to create a pool of resource persons on child participation in each country and c) conducting tailor made training programmes at the organisation level. We need your inputs and advice on how you would like us to go about this programme. Very specifically we need your inputs on: 1. Your opinion and suggestions on the process in the draft concept note. 2. What, if any, are the specific training requirements of your organisation in institutionalising child participation. 3. We would like nominations from you for two persons from your country who have the potential to be Master Trainers on institutionalising child participation. These must be people with considerable experience in child participation and should be trainers who can work with both adults and children. These persons could be * staff of your organisation . * they could be staff from other organisation or independent trainers/ consultants/experts. * They should be fluent in English and local language. * Their ToR will include a) attending a Master Training programme in Bangkok and working with the entire group to develop draft training manual to be taken back to the countries (about 10 days), b) working with your organisation in assessing training needs (5 days), c) delivering training to your organisation and simultaneously training 2 adults and two children from your organisation as trainers (10 days), d) finalising training manual in local language in consultation with you. These people will be taken under contract for the commitment we want from them, therefore if they are your employees or employees of the other organisation, we will need commitment from those organisations as well. Looking forward to hear more from you.
