The Centre for Asia-Pacific Social Transformation Studies (CAPSTRANS) is pleased to announce the next in a series of Singapore Studies Workshops on current social and political issues in Singapore: "Handing over the rei(g)ns: Civil society under Lee Hsien Loong". Friday 22 October 2004, 10.00am - 4.00pm Room 19.1003 (Building 19), CAPSTRANS Seminar Room, University of Wollongong The workshop brings together academics and postgraduate students from across Australia with an interest in civil society in Singapore. Participants in the workshop will examine recent developments among non-government organisations and other civil society actors and the prospects for increasing liberalisation of the political sphere under Singapore's third Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
