VSO volunteers work within communities in Africa, Asia, the Balkans and
the Caribbean/Pacific region, sharing their professional skills and
experience with local people.  They exchange ideas so that together, they
can find lasting solutions to the problems local people face.  It's a unique
approach that helps some of the world's most disadvantaged people change
their lives. BAHAGINAN, the Southern Volunteer Programme-Philippines of VSO,
offers a unique opportunity for Filipino professionals to share their skills
with people of other developing countries and join in this worthy endeavor.

If you are qualified and trained to practice any of these professions:

BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT
- NGO programme managers, livelihood officers and micro-credit/enterprise
development advisers, small business/marketing development advisers,
fundraisers/communication advisers

COMMUNITY & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
- community/social development workers, community
facilitators/organizers,registered social workers

TECHNICAL & NATURAL RESOURCES
- agriculturists, agricultural business managers, agriculture extension
officers, agriculture teachers, agro-foresters, community foresters,
horticulturists, natural resources managers, community-based
environmentalists, fisheries specialists, livestock/vets

HEALTH
- doctors, pediatricians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists,
speech therapists, HIV/AIDS professionals, health managers and
administrators, maternal and child health professionals, medical laboratory
officers, primary health/community-based health educators, community nurses,
learning difficulties nurses

EDUCATION
- curriculum development specialists, education managers, English teacher
trainers, teachers for Math and Science (secondary level)
And you are: from 25 to 68 years of age; college graduate, with at least
three years
relevant work experience; in good health/ medically fit;
able to speak and write well in English;
able to spend up to two years working in a developing country;
willing to live modestly in volunteer allowance; and
willing to be assigned where you are most needed…
