JOB ANNOUNCEMENT GLOBAL PUBLIC SERVICE LAW PROJECT NYU SCHOOL OF LAW NEW YORK, NY Global Public Service Law Project Fellow The GPSLP Fellow will work closely with the Project's Director and Faculty Director and will be involved in all aspects of the Project. We are looking for someone who can start in September 2002 and make a commitment to this position through December 2003. There may be an opportunity to continue working after this date. Primary Tasks: Assist LL.M. Public Service (LLM-PS) student/lawyers with administrative procedures & general advice; Coordinate admissions and scholarship process for LLM-PS; Identify and communicate with non-US legal organizations and individuals; Coordinate fellowship selection, payment, & reporting procedures; Arrange and attend extra-curricular activities including field visits to public interest organizations in NYC & DC; Assist with fundraising and promotional events; Assist with outreach for the Project via mail, email & the web; meet with prospective foreign students and visitors as necessary; draft and edit outreach documents and website materials; and take chief responsibility for running the Project's office. Supervise Undergraduate Research Assistants together with the Director. Other Requirements: BA required. Minimum of 2 years of post-graduation work experience. Advanced degree in int'l relations, M.P.A., etc. attractive but not essential. The Fellow must be extremely responsible and able to juggle multiple assignments and work effectively on her/his own. S/he must also be very comfortable communicating with non-Americans and lawyers in person and via email and the phone. Strong writing skills important. Interest in law, human rights, NGOs, public service & other countries essential. Language abilities preferred, especially Spanish or French. Non-Americans welcome to apply!
