[legal-professionals] Call for Comments: Algeria Penal Code/Libel and Defamation

The Central and East European Law Initiative (CEELI) in Washington D.C. has 
been asked to provide a legal assessment of the draft amendments to the 
Algerian Penal Code addressing seditious libel and defamation.

The deadline for a 5 page commentary on the draft amendments is 03 July 
2002.  The comments received by CEELI serve as the basis for a 
comprehensive report which will be presented to representatives of the 
Algerian government and to a consortium of NGOs working with Algeria on 
freedom of expression issues.
Individual commentators will be identified, and given credit for their 
contributions to the final report.

CEELI is particularly interested in receiving comments from those with a 
background in comparative or civil legal systems.  Non-US legal 
professionals are strongly encouraged to participate.
