Web-based course in project development and management (9 July-31 August 2007)

We are pleased to announce that the call for Application for our
forthcoming "Certificate Course in Project Development and Management
including from a Gender Perspective" from 9th July-August 31st 2007 is now
open.

COURSE DESCRIPTION 

Over the past decade, project management has taken a central role in civil
society work and can be considered today as a tool for social change, a
cornerstone to community development and to build and/or strengthen civil
society organisations. As a consequence, the development and management of
projects has become a necessary skill for civil society organisations and
project managers.

The program is designed to equip participants with skills for better
management of community based development programmes. This course will
further provide the participants with a concrete
‘step-by-step’ approach including hints and guidelines for
developing and implementing a successful project from a gender based
perspective in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, MDGs.

It will further empower the participants to become better able to assess
needs, articulate a plan, mobilize resources and render accounts, as well
as effective evaluation of their organisation projects.

Who Should Apply 

The course is aimed at women, men, gender officers, programs and project
managers, research officers, policy makers, community advocates, women
leaders and members of coalitions and Networks, students, staff of NGOs
and CBOs, donor agency field workers, volunteers, development actors,
trainers, business students, government officials etc.

Cost: The course tuition fee is US$200. There is a limited amount of
partial scholarships available for this course for applicants from
developing countries, based on financial need.

Application Procedure 

The deadline for receipt of applications for this course is 29th June 2007
before 17:00pm. While full tuition payment is due on 5th July 2007.
However, applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
