What can we learn about democracy from the violent history of a failed
democracy? About tolerance from horrific examples of neighbor turning
against neighbor? About moral courage from a society that stressed blind
obedience? Throughout Facing History and Ourselves' online course,
participants will work with Facing History resources and will be
encouraged to make connections to their own society and recognize
universal themes.

"The course...reinforced my belief that teaching, guiding, exposing and
encouraging the coming generations is so important if we are to see a
changed world. I have a renewed sense of the importance of my work, its
relevance in today´s world and an affirmation that I am on the right
path"

"This course has been emotionally challenging and intellectually
stimulating.... has pushed me to redirect many of my personal and
professional goals. It has begun a change in who I am as a person, which
will inevitably transform what I do in my classroom."
