Re: First phase of the World Programme for HRE

Dear All, greeting from Afghanistan

I regularly receive the emails from the the Global HRE List and am very
happy that such NGO groups are active all over the world. Regarding the
question for UN program, in Afghanistan, human rights has not been
recognized as a subject to be tought in schools. Some awareness programs
are/have been being implemented but not in a coordinated manner. I think
NGOs can play a very effective role for human rights awareness/education.
In Afghanistan at least we need 10 more years to institutionalize human
rights as a suject in our education system.

I am writing this email to request member NGOs in the group to not forget
countries like Afghanistan, while they are talking globly about human
rights. I am really intersted to input in the process about Afghanistan.

Best regards
