Summer Institute - The Conflict Transformation Across Cultures Summer
Institute, offered each June, is a three-week, three-credit professional
development and graduate training program in conflict transformation. It
is specifically designed for field workers and managers of development and
community-based organizations who serve communities in often-volatile
environments.

Participants in the Summer Institute will develop a full range of skills
using participatory and experiential learning methods. Learning takes
place both in the classroom and as participants live and socialize
together in both structured and unstructured activities. With participants
representing more than 25 countries, and a wide variety of regional,
ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, the Summer Institute creates a
multicultural learning laboratory in which the skills and techniques
learned can be immediate applied, tested, and evaluated. These include:

- Conflict analysis and intervention 
- Intercommunal dialogue 
- Reconciliation and forgiveness 
- Intercultural negotiation and mediation 
- Non-violent action 
- Peacebuilding and developemnt 
- Training design 
-Grant writing and fundraising for peace work

Graduate Certificate Program The Graduate Certificate Program is a
one-year part-time 14-credit graduate and professional development
program. It is designed with two short phases of face-to-face instruction
coupled with distance learning in order to accommodate the schedule of
working professionals.
