Training Modules on European Citizenship (September-October 2006)

Dear all,

Active democratic citizenship is increasingly at the core of youth work
and youth training (European citizenship will be one of the priorities of
the European Commission "Youth in Action Programme" in 2007-2013).

For this reason, youth workers, youth leaders and trainers alike need to
be familiar with the concept of European citizenship. The six short-term
training Modules on "European Citizenship", which are organised this year
by the "Training-Youth" Partnership Programme (European Commission &
Council of Europe) in co-operation with some National Agencies of the
YOUTH Programme, constitute a great opportunity for you to discuss this
topic and its concrete significance in youth work.

The first two training Modules will start in a few days in Hungary and
Germany. The application process for Modules 1 & 2 is now over and we
thank you all for your overwhelming interest in these two Modules.

However, there are still numerous opportunities to participate in the next
four training Modules (Modules 3 to 6), which will take place after the
summer break (September-October 2006). You are kindly invited for apply
for one of these four Modules, which promise to be a very stimulating
training experience.

The programme of the next four Modules will investigate the relation
between citizenship and other inspiring issues such as intercultural
learning, human rights or the role of youth work in participation:

Module 3: "Citizenship" from 4 to 10 September 2006 (Bern,
Switzerland);
Module 4: "Intercultural Learning" from 25 September to 1 October
2006 (Cardiff, UK);
Module 5: "Human Rights" from 23 to 29 October 2006 (Eisenborn,
Luxembourg);
Module 6: "Role of youth work in participation" from 23 to 29 October
2006 (Rome, Italy).

Participation in these Modules will be free of charge for the selected
participants (travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the
Partnership and/or the National Agencies).

If you are interested in this unique opportunity to better understand,
explore and live the concept of European Citizenship, please read the
detailed descriptions (incl. application forms) of Modules 3, 4, 5 and 6
at: http://www.training-youth.net/INTEGRATION/TY/TCourses/2006.html

Applications have to be submitted by 31st May.

Please forward this information to anybody in your organisation who might
also be interested.

Looking forward to receiving your applications!

The Partnership Secretariat
