Re: HRE in India - a vintage point

Maria,

Thanks for your valuable comments, but what i feel the human rights differ
from place to place and person to person, specially the rights you have
mentioned are not the set of rights which are violated in India, here the
important aspects which need concentration is mentioned in the article by
Poonam.

The whole human rights system is focused on western thinking and those
rights which are thought by western countries as human rights are
considered human rights, infact the human rights perspective is much
different in asian countries then in western countries. so i think western
scholars need to learn and research on asian and specially Indian
perspective before commenting on the human rights situation of India.

The human rights jurisprudence developed by the Supreme Court of India is
according to me something the western countries can not even dream of.
Specially in developing country like India where a balance has to be made
between development and human rights which the Supreme Court as till now
achived in its decisions.
