Facing History and Ourselves Online Course: Holocaust and Human Behavior

Hello to all of you on the Global HRE listserv!

Once again this September, Facing History and Ourselves (
www.facinghistory.org ) will be offering an eight-week online course,
Holocaust and Human Behavior. The course has proven to be a powerful and
practical learning experience for the many educators who have taken it
since 2003. For over 28 years, Facing History has offered an
interdisciplinary approach to citizenship and human rights education that
connects the history of the Holocaust and other examples of genocide to
the moral questions young people face in their own lives.

The course is open to educators around the world who are interested in
learning more about Facing History's resources and methodology. As one
teacher who took the online course said, "...this course and the methods
employed by Facing History compel the student to genuinely confront the
vital issues of history in a most personally insightful way...it has been
a most vivid academic journey as well as an invigorating improvement on my
teaching techniques as a High School English and Social Studies Teacher."
