Dear colleagues, Together with the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) and a number of other partners, UNESCO, through its Division for the Promotion of Quality Education, is coorganizing and hosting the 5th International Conference on the Capability Approach. The Conference will be held at UNESCO Headquarters, 11-14 September 2005, under the theme "Knowledge and Public Action: Education, Responsibility, Collective Agency, Equity". Participants are encouraged to submit papers before 1 April 2005. The Conference includes four research directions, one of which is Quality Education. For this theme, we are in particular looking forward to receiving a number of papers on the links between the Human Capability approach and issues related to the decade on education for sustainable development, life skills and quality education, education for human rights, gender issues, vulnerability, and broadly defined sustainable development skills for the workforce etc. For more information, please see the website of the Conference: ENGLISH: http://www.hd-ca.org/conference/conference_intro.php?page_builder=hdca FRENCH: http://www.hd-ca.org/conference/conference_intro_francais ======== Global Human Rights Education listserv ======== Send mail intended for the list to <hr-education@hrea.org>.
