HUMAN RIGHTS SCHOOL FOR FUTURE DECISION MAKERS DUBROVNIK, CROATIA May 23 - June 4, 2005 ORGANIZER: BALKAN HUMAN RIGHTS NETWORK Topics: - Introduction to Human Rights - Terrorism and Security - Humanitarian Law and Crimes Against Humanity - Rights of Vulnerable Groups - Economic, Social and Cultural Rights - Human Rights in a Wider Social Context - Information and Communication - Science and Technology - European Court of Human Rights - Individual Rights - Religious Freedoms and Rights Application Requirements: - Successful postgraduate or final year students of law, international relations, political sciences, economics, or young parliamentarians, government officials and officials of political parties, as well as young persons involved in the work of NGOs are encouraged to submit their applications. - Eligible candidates must be coming from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. - The number of participants is limited to 30. - The age limit of candidates is 30 years. - Since the language of the School is English, applicants should demonstrate a strong command of English and be able to follow lectures and participate actively in discussions. - The Balkan Human Rights Network will ensure equal gender and geographic distribution of participants. Deadline for application is March 31, 2005 Costs: The Balkan Human Rights Network and OSCE Mission in Croatia will cover costs of transportation, visa, meals and housing.
