"Teaching politics" - training for trainers in Southeast Europe (June 2004-January 2005)

Dear all,

Teaching politics - as an element of civic education - is a challenge that
requires a special set of knowledge and skills.

The NGO D@dalos based in Sarajevo offers a 6-month trainers training for
participants from Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, Kosovo,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, Bulgaria and Romanian. The course language is
German.

Details:

>From June 2004 to January 2005, we offer a distance learning course in
German language. Main aims are to deal with the topics of democracy,
political parties and European Union as well as to get acquainted with
tasks, contents and methods of civic education. In addition to that,
cross-cutting key qualifications such as presentation skills are taught.
Participants acquire basic knowledge and skills in the field of civic
education and learn how to teach politics in formal and non-formal
education. Thereby they take part in developing a democratic political
culture in Southeast-Europe. Information and a detailed report on the
course in 2003 are available on www.dadalos.org/EDC.

The course consists of two two-day workshops in Sarajevo, one four-day
seminar in Bad Urach/Germany and two ten-week distance learning phases
