New diversity and human rights awareness initiative launched (Alberta, Canada)

The Department of Community Development of the Government of Alberta,
Canada and Global TV have launched a new initiative to promote
understanding and respect for cultural diversity and human rights, with a
series of public service announcements (PSAs) that are being aired through
March 2004 across Global Television's Alberta network. Four 60-second PSAs
and two 30-second PSAs encourage viewers to take personal action to build
more inclusive communities by understanding, respecting and appreciating
our diversity. The ads can be viewed on a complementary web site that also
includes tips on how we can each make a difference in our communities and
links to other helpful websites. To find out how you can Help Make a
Difference, visit the website at www.helpmakeadifference.com

The Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission is a partner in this
new initiative. Funding support was provided by the Human Rights,
Citizenship and Multiculturalism Education Fund.
