Re: Fourth Listserv anniversary and support

Congratulations!!

It seems like good and promising beginnings. There is such a long way to
go to move human rights education and learning to the people across all
sectors of society -- for them to understand human rights as a way of
life.

--and when we fully understand human rights education as political
education that we can make a real and vengeful difference in people's
lives, and their futures, women, men, youth and children alike. Human
rights is about people's lives .. and human rights education is a strategy
for empowerment ...

It is indeed a good time to quote Prof. Upendra Baxi:

"No single phrase in recent human history has been more privileged to bear
the mission and burden of human destiny than [the phrase] "human rights".
-- the greatest gift of classical and contemporary human thought is the
notion of human rights. Indeed, more than any other moral language
available to us at this time in history, the language of human rights is
able to expose the immorality and barbarism of the modern face of power".
