LOOKING FOR PARTNERS IN PEACE BUILDING ACTIVITIES Dear Friends and Colleagues, The team of new non-governmental organization "Peacebuilding Public Association" in the persons of Aizhan Shambulova, Mariya Gorokhova, Mariya Kossilova, Nadezhda Evseeva, Oleg Sidorov, and Svetlana Klohenko is happy to announce the beginning of its work. Mission of our organization is to implement peacebuilding ideas through its activity including human rights protection and nonviolent conflict resolution and directed to the building of peace and social justice in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Our main forms of activity include educational programs (trainings, seminars, international schools); research programs; monitoring; carrying out of actions, information campaigns; educational work with children and youth in the field of human rights and culture of peace; publishing activities; and promotion of ideas of peace, nonviolence, intercultural tolerance, race, ethnic and religious variety. The team of Peacebuilding Public Association has broad working experience in the third sector as the staff of the Center for Conflict Management (Almaty, Kazakhstan). We are glad of the possibility to resume partner relations and we hope that our cooperation will not just continue but also will be strengthened in mutual work on civil society building in our common home - in Central Asia. REQUEST FOR PARTNERSHIP AND SUPPORT The Centre for Development Communications (CDC) is a voluntary, independent, non-profit making and non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was established and registered with the government in the year 2001. The organization is into human rights monitoring and advocacy, public information and Management of development issues for the enhancement of the welfare of women, youth, children and the disadvantaged and marginalized people and communities. We had in December 2002, initiated and established the above scheme in a rural-based and district headquarters in order to serve our target people and communities at the grassroots level in particular and the national level in general with a more determined efforts on information empowerment. We are requesting you or your organization to be one of our partners and support the scheme with additional relevant materials and facilities so as to sufficiently stock the Documentation and Information Resource Services Unit (DIRSU) and also strengthen or capacitate the entire scheme. LOOKING FOR SCHOLARSHIP Dear List members, I am working as Human Rights Activity Manager with an NGO International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) in Islamabad, Pakistan. I have been admitted in the Faculty of Human Rights Center of Commonwealth Institute, London University in the programme of MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights. The Master degree programme to which I have been admitted commences on September 2003. I am desperately seeking for scholarship to enable me undertake this study which is very important for me, my organization and for my country. Please kindly help me in this regard.
