National Youth Workshop on Human Rights Education (New Delhi, 3-5 March 2003)

Announcement:
YOUTH WORKSHOP ON HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION

The issue of Human Rights concerns all of us. It is important to have an
understanding of basic human rights and freedoms in order to prevent
abuses and discrimination. Youth are more vulnerable to abuse and
discrimination. In India the problem is serious, specially with young
people, they face discrimination on basis of gender, abuse sexually, apart
from facing the discrimination on caste, which leads the youth kept away
from the basic human rights provided under Indian constitution.

Indian Committee of Youth Organizations (ICYO), in collaboration with Asia
Youth Network for Human Development (AYNHD), is organizing the "National
Youth Workshop on Human Rights Education" in New Delhi from 3-5 March 2003
to discuss these issues.

The workshop will also provide a platform to discuss the outcomes of World
Conference Against Racism (WCAR) held in Durban.

The workshop will also cover the issue like rights of indigenous people,
CRC etc.

The workshop is open for Indian youth aged below 30 years and to be held
in New Delhi.
