Dear List members, We hope that you enjoyed the On-Line Forum on the Follow-up to the Decade for Human Rights Education that just concluded. One of the unique features of this listserv is that it allows us to hear the diverse experiences and perspectives of human rights educators from around the world! Right now, there are over 3,100 members from 150 countries, and the list grows every day. Many members have written us to say that they have used materials posted on the list, attended a course that was announced, or receive answers to their queries. Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) is pleased to be able to host, facilitate and moderate this list, and we thank you for your participation and contributions over the past year. We would like to ask those listserv members who are in a position to do so to make a contribution to the continued operation of the List. Because of the success of the Global HRE list, new partner organisations in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East will be collaborating with HREA over the next two years in creating regional listservs in Arabic, French, Russian and English. List members may recall that in 2001, the Inter-American Institute for Human Rights (IIDH) in Costa Rica -- in partnership with HREA and with support from UNESCO -- launched a similar regional listserv in Spanish and Portuguese, which has been very successful.
