[hr-education] 2003-2004 Fellowships in International Human Rights (Human Rights Watch)

Application deadline: November 1, 2002

Each year, Human Rights Watch awards five Fellowships to recent graduates 
of law schools or graduate programs (master's and above) in journalism, 
international relations, area studies, or other relevant disciplines.

Fellows work full time for one year with one or more divisions of Human 
Rights Watch, based in New York City or Washington, DC. Fellows monitor 
human rights developments in various countries, conduct on-site 
investigations, draft reports on human rights conditions, and engage in 
advocacy aimed at publicizing and curtailing human rights violations.

Two of the fellowships, the Orville Schell and the Alan R. Finberg 
Fellowships, are open to recent graduates from any university worldwide at 
the master's level and above.

Three of the fellowships are restricted to graduates of specific schools: 
the Michael Bloomberg Fellowship, for graduates of graduate programs at 
John Hopkins University, including the John Hopkins University School of 
Advanced International Studies (SAIS); the Furman Fellowship, for graduates 
of New York University School of Law; and the Leonard H. Sandler 
Fellowship, for graduates of Columbia Law School.
