1) Temporary Lecturer in Human Rights
One year fixed term
Salary up to £34,671 pa inc.

The Centre for the Study of Human Rights is seeking to make a fixed-term 
Lectureship appointment for the academic year 2002-2003.

An MSc in Human Rights was successfully begun in 2001-2, with 40 students, 
and the Temporary Lecturer will be expected to join the Director and two 
existing staff in teaching the core course "Key Issues in Human Rights" to 
give tutorials, act as supervisor for the associated research dissertations 
and give requested lectures, depending on specialist perspective. Later in 
the year, teaching on a short course may be required. The post will include 
provision for research and some administration. Candidates in the Social 
Sciences and Law may apply. Candidates in Social Sciences preferred.

Candidates should have an excellent first degree, a completed or virtually 
completed PhD, and proven research ability.

2) Centre Manager
Salary up to £28,625 pa inc.

The Centre for the Study of Human Rights seeks to appoint a dynamic and 
experienced administrator to provide full administrative support in the 
organisation and running of the Centre as it enters an exciting period of 
rapid growth and development. The post will involve office support 
services, coordination of staff activities, servicing meetings, maintaining 
contacts within and outside the School, managing the budget and otherwise 
assisting the Director and staff in the planning and implementation of the 
Centre's programmes and activities.

You will need excellent oral and written communication skills, IT skills 
and strong organisational ability. You should also be able to work flexibly 
as part of a team, to resolve conflicting priorities, to use initiative and 
to work to deadlines. Experience in a higher educational setting is desirable.
