I am currently at the Ghana School of Law. I have been offered admission to the LL.M program at Columbia University Law School. Though this LL.M program in Human Rights is dear on my heart, especially considering the public service goals that I have set for myself, pursuing it now seems an almost impossible endeavour, considering the fact that I cannot afford the fees being charged. This is due to the dire and challenging financial constraints that I am facing. I am therefore hereby earnestly appealing to you to come to my assistance so that I can pursue this important course and be equipped with skills, knowledge and training that would enable me contribute my quota to the Ghanaian, African and global human rights scene. Yours sincerely, Samuel Obeng Manteaw E-mail: samuelkom@hotmail.com ---------- LOOKING FOR SPONSORSHIP FOR SHORT-TERM COURSE ON ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT Dear all, We would greatly appreciate if any of you could kindly provide us with any leads to organizations and individuals who might have an interest in sponsoring a short term training course on Development Management for a key staff member of an American-based humanitarian NGO working with refugees in Iran. This training course, at one point, will help build upon the developmental skills base of the concerned organization's staff. At another point it will work out in a wider context of NGO community through a capacity building programme to be held by International Consortium for Refugees (ICRI) for charities and local NGOs. As mentioned earlier, the trainee will be committed to relaying the knowledge gained at this training course to the other humanitarian NGOs and charities upon the completion of this course. The corresponding proposal and course particulars are available upon request. We can be contacted through the email address, which appears below, and will be happy to provide any further info in this regard if required. Thank your for your help. Babak Askarian E-mail: babak_askarian@hotmail.com ---------- SEEKING UN DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE The United Nations has international human rights documents on the rights and protections of persons with disabilities and mental illness, but does anyone know if there are similar documents pertaining to substance abusers? If so, where can I get these documents? Does anyone have copies? Would anyone be interested on working on one, if none exist? Thank you for your attention.
