Dear Sir/Madam,

I am currently pursuing my MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights
at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London.

I will be finishing the course in September 2001. I am looking for funds
or fellowship to help me complete my course and the research. I am very

LOOKING FOR HUMAN RIGHTS INFORMATION HANDLING COURSE FOR DOCUMENTALIST

Dear Sir/ Madam

I am a man aged twenty-nine and employed by the Human Rights Trust of
Southern Africa as an Information Officer/ Documentalist. My organization
was established in 1997 under a deed of Trust. Its focus is to promote
human rights in Southern Africa. In this regard the Trust focuses on
mainstreaming human rights within public institutions in its quest to
fulfill the United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004)
and the Vienna declaration of Human Rights (1993) which call upon states
to introduce human rights education in all their institutions.

As the Information Officer I established the human rights resource centre
to cater for the needs of academics, researchers, and the general public.

I am therefore requesting for assistance to get training in the human
rights field.

I will be glad if you can put my application into your considerations.

Thank you

Onward Murove
Information Officer

REQUEST FOR SCHOLARSHIP (DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO)

Dear sir,

I am seeking a scholarship for the pursuit of my studies.

I'm a young congolese (DRC) currently in refuge in Uganda. I fled some
incidences in my country Congo which force me to take refuge in Uganda.

Before coming in Uganda I was a student at CUB (centre universitaire de
Bukavu) in the department of Geologie and Mineralogie where I did two
years. Now, for lack of money, I'm in impossibility to continue with my
studies.

Hope for favourable answer to my request. I thank you in advance for your
help.

Yours faithfully,

NYUNDO MUSHARA

SEEKING INFORMATION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION FOR PRISONS OFFICERS (KENYA)

Dear Colleagues,

The Standing Committee on Human Rights (Kenya) is a government appointed
national human rights institution charged with investigating allegations
of human rights abuse and recommend appropriate action. The Committee also
has a mandate of human rights education, monitoring and promotion.

We have been approached by the Prisons Authority in Kenya to help them
develop a Training Manual on Human Rights for Prisons Officials. We have
started on the venture. We would appreciate if anybody has been involved
in a similar venture to share with us any useful information in this
regard.

Kind Regards,
